She is just paranoid because of the russian spys that were caught in america acting as normal people. - - - well... mmm.. not that I'm very familiar w. that thing, but just like you say, thouse guys were... they were in Aaamerica :))) And I'm not:) so yes, I can most certainly say that your mums friend is a bit mmm... "imaginative" :)
